Another beautiful day for the second Corporate Challenge SALT series fun run this year at Kingscliffe.
Dreamsport Photography had one photographer on hand to capture the action out on course.

The pinnacle of the TRAQ Glasshouse series each year is the GH100, the Glasshouse 100. not only is there a 100km event, there is also a 100 mile event. At 160km this event is not for the faint hearted or unprepared. Running through the night in rough dusty terrain, including several nasty climbs, battling exhaustion, cold and the mental yips that go with running ultra events.
Hats off to the incredibly tough men and women who competed in this event.
There were also the “smaller” ultra events of 50km, 30km and the positively gentle stroll of 10km.
Dreamsport Photography as the official photographer again and we had shooters out on course in multiple locations. For ease of location of your photos we have categorised them into the following galleries based on the checkpoint nearest to where the photos were taken.

I was lucky enough to be shooting the Woodford Stampede for Supersport Images this year. I really get a kick out of capturing raw human emotion, unrepeatable candid photography – snapping humans enjoying the heck out of themselves. Adding a mud pit at the end of a 5 or 10 km obstacle course is a sure way to get some of that unbridled joy and other emotions flowing!

TRAQ have a beautiful lakeside run at Lake Manchester just southwest of Brisbane. The event is split into a 6km short event and the 22km full length event. There is some interesting information about the 22km event on the runtrails website:
there are seven hills I call the "seven dwarves" which you'll cross not long after the start, and again just before the finish. That's my attempt to make them feel small – they're not big, but by the time you get back they feel big. The hill at the far end is a solid climb, but the steepest bit will be downhill, fun for those who like a bit of flying. The middle section is a flat lakeside trail for recovery!
My apologies to all competitors for shooting you at the top of one of these short sharp little hills, but thanks to the 95% of you who smiled and waved anyway!

The Brisbane Running Festival comprised a Marathon, Half Marathon, 10Km, 5Km and a 2.5km kids event. I shot the event for Supersport Images again this year.
Noticeable was the lack of crazy costumes, with the only spider man I spotted worn by a child in a pram.
As always I love the interaction with the runners on the course getting laughs, smiles, waves and the occasional jump and so on from them.

A beautiful day in paradise – although a little chilly early on for those used to warmer climes – greeted the 260 odd runners who turned up to the fabulous Glasshouse run series on 29 July 2012. the flinders tour race had three distances, 50km, 25km and 10km. Each had specific challenges associated with the terrain with a climb to the top of Mt Beerburrum as a started for the 50km event. The rock garden inside the last 3 km is also challenging for all events.
Dreamsport Photography was there in force with a team of 3 covering the vent start and finish and multiple field locations.

Geoffs Runs has the National 24 and 48 hour event on every year. This is a circular 500m graded track at the Caboolture Historical Village. Competitors enter into 48, 24, 12, 6, 3 and 1.5 hour events.
Photos are going to be made available for all competitors over the weekend, with some samples on Facebook and this website for all of them. Check the gallery for photos of you or your friends.

I rocked into Blackbutt 10 minutes early and met Vickie at her van. Rich was out running she said – should be here soon. At 10:01 Rich jogged up. Took two walking steps after stopping his running stride and shook my hand. No sweat, no heavy breathing, greeted me in a normal voice. I said he was a minute late. He said there was a car going slowly that held him up. Some tourists who couldn’t drive fast in the forest or something…
After that I tried to just slide into Rich and Vickie's day as unobtrusively as possible. Took some pics of them making a cuppa, Vickie serenading Rich on her guitar as he sipped from a strategically placed sponsors sports drink bottle, a photo of Rich’s shoe obsessively labelled with its odometer reading. Just ordinary stuff.
Then we didn’t stage a gate climb so that Rich could look like RM Williams man. No sirree that gate had to be climbed. I did it 4 times cos I left stuff in the car and had to go back for it.
Some quick clothes changes to make it look like Rich was actually running the BNT (what is the BNT?) and we took some photos of him pretending to stride past me. The best ones were where we cheated.
Oh yeah, the BNT. Just a short 5,330 km of rugged trail. He's halfway through it. Like I said just ordinary stuff.
We found an old war plane – well the front of it anyway and a car hanging from a tree – what the?
Then to Taromeo station. A quick tour back into past times where aboriginals came to trade with the white man, one of Australia’s few private stonewalled cemetery, badly in need of repair after the last floods all but destroyed it, levelling the headstones and the entire wall apart from one small section.
Rich ran past the cemetery though the creek jumped some rocks and then past some cows - this wasn’t faked at all – he actually ran!
Some hallucinatory chilli jam sandwiches and then a photo of the Maui camper van and Rich with his obsessive collection of old shoes.
Did I mention crazy? No – Rich is passionate and dedicated. He even runs on his rest days.
These guys are genuine Aussies who care about helping people (actually Rich is a pom – but then so am I! don’t tell anyone.)
I had an absolute blast shooting Rich and Vickie and wish them all the best for the remainder of their run.

Rollerderby is so much fun to watch and shoot. Last nights bout of the Northern Roller Derby Untouchabelles vs the Diner Might Dolls was exciting. After a disastrous start the DMD fought there way back to keep the Belles honest. Lots of tough jams full of aggression!
In the end the belles prevailed but not before the Dolls showed everybody they were the dance winners with an impromptu Cant Touch This boogie during a time out.
