A crisp clear morning and then a lovely sunny day with not too much heat or humidity creates perfect trail racing weather.

The TRAQ Hares and Hounds event is an iconic event in the glasshouse trails calendar. The event is timed but there are no rewards for places due to the heat at this time of year. Instead the Hares and Hounds aspect sees the hares run a solo 55km race with the Hounds Relay teams starting an hour later and trying to hunt them down. Teams are 2, 3 or 4 people and can be mixed or single sex.

There is also a short 5 and 10km option.

All events start and finish at the Woodford pool, and the facilities are great; showers, swimming pool, kids play area, great BBQ put on by the Woodford Men’s Shed and the general convivial atmosphere at a trail run.

I just happened to be on the beach at Mooloolaba while a beach volleyball comp was running one evening in December. I immediately dragged out two cameras and a flash and started shooting. Some great action on the sand.

Here’s a few awesome jumps from the very wet Saturday morning Trail Run.

Shutek Promotions Boxing Event promoter Anthony Coleiro has created a world first and some Australian records with the Harbour City Havoc 2 Boxing Event on 16th November in Gladstone.

The Gladstone Entertainment and Convention Centre was the perfect venue for a massive card with every single fight for a world title, representing more world title fights in a single event anywhere. The records came with an Australian boxer Mark de Mori winning two world titles from one bout and wheelchair boxer Davin Bretherton winning his bout as well.

Dreamsport Photography was the official photographer for the event. All images are available for sale and we have some special deals for boxers as well.

The V8 Supercars Gold Coast 600 is an iconic Car Race held in the streets of Surfers Paradise. Brutal on cars. Tough on people. Fun to watch.

This year the inaugural Runners Hot Lap was introduced with runners of all ages and abilities able to get onto the track and run a 3km lap.

Dreamsport Photography were the official event photographers (alongside V8 Supercars own photographers) and captured all the pre race, start, mid point and finish line action.

We have separated these images into a pre race gallery and race gallery in the mail 2013 Runners Hot Lap V8 Supercars Gold Coast Gallery. As there were no bibs or race numbers you will need to search for your images manually. However race images should be pretty much consecutive in each of the three spots.

Here are some of the photos from the day.

Bribie Island surf beach is a beautiful long curving beach over 25km long. With the tide running out the sand is largely packed firm. Although it was a blustery northerly blowing in the faces of the runners the return leg was fast with a strong tail wind. Conditions other than the wind were near perfect and some fast times were recorded despite the wind.

We had photographers along the first km covering the out and back nature of the event with distances from 50km, marathon, half marathon, 15km, 10km, 6km and 3km. The Bribie Beach Bash organised by Geoff Williams of Geoffs Runs and is a charity event in support of Multiple Sclerosis Queensland.

We have almost 4000 images in the full 2013 Bribie Beach Bash Gallery and some great deals for runners to purchase their photos. As always pre purchasing gives you a discount but that deal was only available through the registration package.

The Currumbin Valley Eco Village is a beautiful spot at the southern end of the Gold Coast. It is a great place to start and finish a run from as well. Chris from Chisel Fitness and Matt from Judd Adventures put on a well run race event attracting runners from Brisbane, Caboolture, South Brisbane, Gold Coast and even further afield.

The Tomewin Mountain Challenge is a tough half marathon. There are the many race options including the half marathon ascending the mountain twice, a 14km single ascent, a 6km Highland hurry race running up into the top part of the eco village, and a 1 km Dash for Duchenne Charity event.

Aidan Richardson was born with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), a progressive and untreatable muscle disease. His body does not produce a protein called dystrophin, which coats each muscle fibre and keeps the muscle healthy. As a result, every muscle in his body is weakening over time.

$1 from every finish line photo of a dash for Duchenne runner will go to the Aidan Richardson Trust.

The pictures say it all.

After the last few rainy months August has been dry and the course was dry and dusty. Only a few boggy bits in creek bottoms and most were able to be avoided by the runners. The day itself dawned clear and fine and quickly got very hot. The 100 and 160km runners were away just before first light at 5:30 am with lots of hooting and cheers. A lot were still celebrating at the top of Mt Beerburrum 12 km later. But by the time midday rolled around the heat had got to a lot and the epic sufferfest was well underway. The 50, 30, and 10km races got away at 6:30, 7:30 and 8:30 respectively and the same heat was a factor in all these races also.

Dreamsport Photography had 5 photographers on course and most were out away from checkpoints photographing competitors out where the real running is done.
